Matthew D. Asbell

Matthew D. Asbell is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Fordham University School of Law, where he teaches the Trademark Practicum course. During the day, he practices trademark and patent law domestically and internationally as an Associate at Ladas & Parry LLP. With a multidisciplinary background spanning the entertainment industry, information technology, and medicine, he serves a diverse clientele. He holds a BS in Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University, attended medical school at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University School of Medicine, and earned his JD from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.

His research and professional interests focus on intellectual property, particularly trademark and patent law, with an emphasis on international practices. He also specializes in copyright, broadcasting, internet, and privacy law, alongside certifications in Social Media Strategy. His work bridges legal frameworks with emerging technologies and cultural dynamics.

Matthew is deeply involved in the American Bar Association, where he served as a Young Lawyer Fellow and chaired multiple intellectual property committees. He contributes to legal scholarship through publications and presentations, including co-authoring books on IP strategies for modern corporations.
