Matthew Caulfield is Assistant Professor of Business Law and Ethics at Fordham University's Gabelli School of Business, joining in 2023. His scholarship examines normative dimensions of corporate governance, compensation systems, and market ethics through philosophical frameworks including Confucian communitarianism.
Caulfield's research investigates ethical tensions in business practices, including pay secrecy policies, corporate accountability mechanisms, and vendor conscience in impersonal markets. His work develops theoretical models for understanding authority and cooperation within organizational structures.
Publication Focus: Recent scholarship explores federated approaches to corporate responsibility, normative defenses of confidentiality practices, and philosophical foundations of corporate moral agency.
