Brent J. Horton serves as Associate Professor and Area Chair of Law and Ethics at Fordham University's Gabelli School of Business. He joined Fordham in 2008 and is based at 140 W. 62nd Street in New York.
Research examines corporate law, securities regulation, and business ethics, with recent focus on investor protection mechanisms, disclosure requirements, and ethical dilemmas in service industries. Publications analyze legal frameworks governing financial markets and workplace safety regulations.
Recent work includes empirical analysis of hazard disclosure for oil spill cleanup workers and examinations of how direct listings affect investor protections. Additional scholarship addresses corporate governance reforms and ethical decision-making models in business contexts.
