Dr. Zhen Liang is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Sweet Briar College. She holds a B.A. from St. John’s College, M.A. and Ph.D. from DePaul University, and a Graduate Certificate in Teaching Business Ethics. Her research focuses on East-West comparative philosophy, exploring intersections between Confucianism/Daoism and Western philosophical traditions, including process philosophy and philosophy of science. She teaches courses like Philosophy of Science, Confucianism, and Classical Chinese for Reading Philosophy. Dr. Liang is advisor to the Society For Young Philosophers (SYP) club and has published in venues such as Philosophy Today and Dao Companion to Confucian Applied Ethics. Her work bridges traditional Chinese thought with modern ethical dilemmas in governance and science.
