University of Oxfordمعرفی
Matthew Burrage is a British Heart Foundation Clinical Research Training Fellow and DPhil Student at the University of Oxford, Radcliffe Department of Medicine. He is affiliated with the Ferreira Group (Quantitative Cardiac MRI Myocardial Tissue Characterisation) and Green Templeton College. Holding qualifications including BSc, MBBS, and FRACP, his research explores cardiovascular involvement in IgG4-related disease, cardiotoxicity detection, and advanced cardiac imaging techniques.
Education:
- BSc (University of Queensland, 2006) - awarded with commendation for high academic achievement
- MBBS (University of Queensland, 2010) - awarded with commendation
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Cardiology (2017)
His work focuses on cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) techniques, including stress T1 mapping, virtual native enhancement, and machine learning applications for automated image segmentation. He investigates myocardial energetics, cardiotoxicity mechanisms, and develops non-invasive biomarkers for cardiac disease severity.
Matthew's publications demonstrate expertise in CMR optimization, cardiotoxicity assessment, and AI-driven imaging. His projects include clozapine-associated myocarditis detection and radiation-induced cardiac injury biomarkers in breast cancer patients.
Scientific Awards:
- British Heart Foundation Clinical Research Training Fellowship
- British Cardiovascular Society Young Investigator Award (2021)
Matthew's email address is matthew.burrage@cardiov.ox.ac.uk. His research contributes to early cardiac injury detection and AI-enhanced diagnostic workflows in cardiovascular medicine.
