Dr. Aleksandra Radjenovic is a Senior Lecturer in Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health at the University of Glasgow's School of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health and BHF Glasgow Cardiovascular Research Centre. Her work focuses on advanced cardiovascular imaging techniques, particularly dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR), to study myocardial perfusion, ischemia, and pathophysiological processes in conditions like myocardial infarction, chronic kidney disease, and heart failure. She has contributed to developing imaging protocols for vascular assessment in hemodialysis patients and exploring computational fluid dynamics for vascular stenosis analysis.
Her research integrates clinical and engineering approaches, with collaborations in rheumatology and nephrology. Key contributions include advancing T1 mapping techniques for myocardial tissue characterization and evaluating novel contrast agents like ferumoxytol for vascular imaging. She has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and co-edited a book on multiparametric cardiovascular MRI.
Research interests span myocardial ischemia detection, computational modeling of blood flow, and translational applications of imaging in chronic diseases. Her work bridges diagnostic innovation with clinical outcomes, aiming to improve disease management strategies through precision imaging.
