Dean Matthew B. Myers served as Dean of the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University (SMU) for eight years, concluding his tenure in 2025. He spearheaded a transformative $140 million campus renovation, elevated Cox’s national rankings, and emphasized a culture of collaboration, duty, and societal impact. Following his deanship, Myers returned to SMU as the David B. Miller Endowed Professor in Business and Inaugural Senior Fellow at the Bridwell Institute for Economic Freedom, with a sabbatical in 2025–26 and a visiting professorship at IE Business School in Madrid.
- Key Achievements: Secured over $300 million in funding, led construction of the state-of-the-art David B. Miller Business Quadrangle, and improved Cox’s Full-Time MBA ranking from the 50s to #34 (U.S. News & World Report).
