Matthew Allsop is an Associate Professor of Palliative Care at the University of Leeds, School of Medicine, Department of Primary Care, Palliative Care and Public Health. He holds a Yorkshire Cancer Research University Academic Fellowship and co-leads the St Gemma’s Academic Unit of Palliative Care. His work focuses on global palliative care, digital health integration, and refugee/migrant health equity.

Research Interests: Dr. Allsop explores palliative care delivery in low-resource settings and humanitarian crises. He develops digital tools to improve access and coordinates multi-disciplinary studies on symptom management and service optimization. His work emphasizes patient and caregiver experiences, particularly in marginalized populations.

Labs/Teams: Co-leads the St Gemma’s Academic Unit and the PallCHASE initiative addressing palliative care in humanitarian emergencies. Active in the Leeds Institute of Health Sciences and the Nuffield Centre for International Health and Development.
