Matteo Pardini serves as Associate Professor at the Department of Neuroscience, Rehabilitation, Ophthalmology, Genetics, and Maternal and Child Sciences (DINOGMI) within the University of Genoa. His teaching responsibilities span multiple degree programs including Medicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, and Sports Sciences, covering core neurology courses and specialized subjects in neurodegenerative diseases.
His research concentrates on neurodegenerative disorders with emphasis on Alzheimer's disease, frontotemporal dementia, and alpha-synucleinopathies. He employs advanced neuroimaging techniques (PET, MRI) and biomarker analysis to investigate disease progression, metabolic profiles, and structural changes. Current work explores brain health metrics, age-dependent phenotypic variations in dementia, and the interplay between proteinopathies and metabolic dysfunction.
Recent publications demonstrate a methodological focus on integrating multimodal data (imaging, CSF, clinical) to develop precision diagnostic frameworks. Key trends include characterizing prodromal disease stages, identifying subtype-specific biomarkers, and establishing quantitative progression models that could inform future therapeutic interventions.
