Matteo Pacilli is a tenure-track researcher (RTT) in Civil Procedural Law at the Department of Law of the University of Urbino Carlo Bo. He teaches Civil Procedural Law, Elements of Civil Procedural Law of Labor, and Bankruptcy Law. Previously, he served as a type A researcher at the University of Bologna (Ravenna campus), research fellow at the University of Brescia, and contract professor at both institutions.
He earned his PhD in Institutions, Markets and Protections with a focus on Civil Procedural Law from the University of Bologna, where he also graduated with highest honors in Law. His educational background demonstrates a strong foundation in Italian legal studies with specialization in procedural law.
Pacilli's research focuses on contemporary issues in civil procedure, including European judicial cooperation, bankruptcy law, and civil execution procedures. His work examines the intersection of national civil procedure with EU regulations, particularly regarding cross-border litigation and account preservation orders. He has conducted significant analysis of the Cartabia reform of Italian civil procedure and has published extensively on specific articles of the civil procedure code.
His recent publications show a clear trend toward European harmonization of civil procedures, with increasing attention to implementation of EU regulations within the Italian legal framework. His 2024 publication on the European Account Preservation Order Procedure demonstrates his engagement with cutting-edge developments in cross-border civil litigation.
