Matt Snell is a Principal Enterprise Fellow at the Huddersfield Business School within the University of Huddersfield’s School of Business, Education and Law. He is affiliated with the Centre for Sustainability, Responsibility, Governance and Ethics, and the Centre for Climate Resilient Societies. His research focuses on conservation livelihoods, off-grid renewable energy in Sub-Saharan Africa, sustainable business models, social entrepreneurship, and community development in marginalized regions. He has led projects such as the Community Conservation of Wild Coffee Natural Resources in SW Ethiopia, collaborating with Emeritus Professor Adrian Wood and Dr. Byongjun Hwang.
With 17 years in international development, Snell has held roles including Country Director and consultant across NGOs and social enterprises, working in over 20 countries. His expertise aligns with UN SDGs related to poverty reduction, climate action, and sustainable communities. He currently accepts PhD students and has contributed to projects addressing forest biodiversity, carbon stocks, and wild coffee conservation through community-managed systems.

- Activities: Organized the 2nd International Workshop on Victims’ Reparation and participated in global development forums.
