معرفی
Mats Carlsson is a Professor at the Institute of Theoretical Astrophysics, University of Oslo, affiliated with the Rosseland Centre for Solar Physics. His research focuses on solar physics, stellar atmosphere modeling, and space projects, with expertise in radiation magnetohydrodynamics. He has held roles such as President of the European Association for Solar Telescopes.
Carlsson earned his PhD from Uppsala University (1987) and has held academic positions including Postdoctoral Fellow (1988-1991), Associate Professor (1991-1992), and Professor since 1993. His research explores solar chromospheric dynamics, coronal heating, and solar flare mechanisms through numerical simulations and observations.
Notable awards include the Arctowski Medal (2017), the UiO Research Prize (2012), and the Edlundska Prize (2000). His work involves collaborations on space missions like Solar Orbiter and the Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope. Key projects include the European Solar Telescope and studies of solar magnetic reconnection and plasma dynamics.
Carlsson’s articles span topics like chromospheric thermodynamics, EUV observables, and nanoflare signatures. His contributions address fundamental questions in solar physics, combining observational data with advanced computational models.
