Massimo MEROLA is a Visiting Professor at the European Legal Studies Department of the College of Europe in Bruges. He is also the managing partner of the Brussels Office of Bonelli Erede Pappalardo and scientific director of the firm’s European Law and Antitrust group.
- Education: Graduated magna cum laude from the Faculty of Law of the University La Sapienza (Rome); Master’s Degree with honors from the College of Europe (Bruges, Belgium).
- Past Roles: Visiting professor in Community Law at the University of Perugia, University of Valencia, and University of Barcelona; academic advisor for the post-graduate course 'Giuristi d'impresa' in Italy.
- Research Focus: European Law, Antitrust, Competition Law, and State Aid Law, with expertise developed through private practice and academic roles since 1987.
His career includes traineeship at the European Commission’s Legal Service and academic contributions to EU law, particularly in competition and state aid frameworks.
