Massih-Reza Amini serves as a Professor at the University of Grenoble Alpes and Deputy Scientific Director for Artificial Intelligence, affiliated with the Grenoble Computer Science Laboratory (LIG - CNRS/Université Grenoble Alpes). His career spans academic leadership, research innovation, and student supervision within the AI domain.
He earned his PhD in 2001 from Pierre and Marie Curie University (now Sorbonne University), subsequently becoming a lecturer before joining the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) from 2008 to 2011.
His research specializes in learning with partially labeled data, addressing critical challenges in real-world artificial intelligence systems. This work bridges theoretical machine learning frameworks with practical deployment scenarios, emphasizing semi-supervised methodologies to enhance AI robustness in data-scarce environments.
At the University of Grenoble Alpes since 2012, he leads research projects and mentors students while contributing to strategic AI direction through his Deputy Scientific Director role. His professional trajectory reflects deep integration of academic rigor and applied research collaboration.
