Masoud Azodi, MD is a Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at Yale School of Medicine (YSM) and Director of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery as well as the Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Fellowship Program. He has been at Yale for nearly 20 years, performing over 5,000 minimally invasive surgeries. His clinical expertise includes treating gynecologic cancers using advanced surgical techniques like robotic-assisted procedures.
- Education: MD from Wright State University (1992), residency at Aultman Hospital/NEOUCOM (1996), fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at YSM (1999)
- Board Certifications: Obstetrics & Gynecology (2000) and Gynecologic Oncology (2002)
Research interests focus on minimally invasive surgical innovations, biomarkers in gynecologic cancers, and fertility-sparing treatments. He leads clinical trials evaluating new therapies for ovarian and cervical cancers, including targeted antibody-drug conjugates and PARP inhibitors.
Recipient of multiple 'Top Doctor' recognitions (2012-2014 and 2025) and serves as editor-in-chief of Robotic Surgery: Research and Reviews. Active in training residents/fellows and mentoring clinical research teams.
