Dario R Roque, MD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology with a specialization in Gynecologic Oncology at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. He practices at Northwestern Medicine and serves as an institutional principal investigator for several clinical trials focused on innovative therapies for ovarian and uterine cancer.

His clinical expertise includes the management of endometrial and ovarian cancer, with a focus on offering minimally invasive approaches even for patients with complex medical conditions, morbid obesity, or prior abdominal surgeries. He performs complex pelvic and abdominal surgeries including radical debulking surgery for advanced ovarian cancer, radical hysterectomy for cervical cancer, and uterine artery-sparing radical trachelectomy for fertility preservation.
Dr. Roque's research interests focus on several key areas within gynecologic oncology. His prior research has examined the role of obesity in endometrial cancer and developed cost-effectiveness models for cancer interventions including peri-operative low-molecular weight heparin and bevacizumab for recurrent ovarian cancer. Currently, he serves as principal investigator for clinical trials exploring innovative therapies for ovarian and uterine cancer. A significant aspect of his work focuses on healthcare equity, particularly strategies to increase enrollment of racial and ethnic minority groups in clinical trials.

Dr. Roque is actively involved in professional societies and editorial work. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Society of Gynecologic Oncology, American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Roque leads clinical trials including NRG GY032: A Phase II Study of Tailored Adjuvant Therapy in Pole-Mutated and p53-Wildtype/NSMP Early-Stage Endometrial Cancer (RAINBO BLUE & TAPER), which tests de-escalated adjuvant treatment for specific types of early-stage endometrial cancer.
