Maryjane Farr, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where she serves as Section Chief of the Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support, and Heart Transplantation group. A certified specialist in cardiovascular disease and heart failure, she joined UT Southwestern in 2021 and holds the Jackie and Charles Solomon Distinguished Chair in Clinical Excellence.
Education:

- M.D. and Master’s in Patient-Oriented Research, Columbia University
- Internal Medicine Residency, Weill
- Fellowship in Heart Failure and Transplantation, Columbia University Medical Center
Dr. Farr’s research focuses on heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and transplantation. Her recent work explores the intersection of these areas with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on transplant outcomes, organ allocation systems, and immunological challenges in transplantation. Her clinical interests include organ allocation, primary graft failure, and mechanical circulatory support.

As an educator, Dr. Farr mentors in cardiovascular pathophysiology and heart transplantation.
