Ryan Davies

Dr. Ryan Davies is Professor of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center, specializing in pediatric cardiac surgery and congenital heart disease management. His clinical expertise includes complex neonatal repairs, heart transplantation, and ventricular assist device implementation.

Research focuses on improving outcomes for pediatric heart transplant recipients, mechanical circulatory support strategies for infants, and optimization of organ allocation policies. Recent work addresses paracorporeal VAD applications in children under 20kg and Fontan physiology support.

Published extensively on waitlist mortality, donor selection criteria, and surgical outcomes analysis. Contributed to national policy revisions through the Society of Thoracic Surgeons Congenital Heart Surgery Database.
