Faris Araj

Faris Araj, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Cardiology. He specializes in advanced heart failure, cardiac transplantation, and ventricular assist device management.

Dr. Araj’s research focuses on clinical cardiology, mechanical circulatory support, and transplant outcomes. His publications address LVAD complications, heart failure diagnostics, and device innovation. Recent work includes machine learning tools for post-transplant renal risk prediction and novel auscultation techniques.

He serves on the Heart Transplant Committee, Heart Valve Team, and Critical Care Committee at Clements University Hospital. Dr. Araj is active in professional societies such as the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation and the Heart Failure Society of America.
