Mary Miller is the Principal Lecturer of Flute and Auditions and Music Scholarship Coordinator at the School of Music, University of Nevada, Reno. She holds a Master of Music (MM) and Bachelor of Music Education (BM) from the same institution. Her professional affiliations include roles as Principal Flutist with the Reno Philharmonic, former Principal Flutist with the Reno Chamber Orchestra (30+ years), and former Principal Flutist with the Nevada Opera Orchestra (25 years). She has performed as a soloist with multiple orchestras including the Ruby Mountain Symphony and Carson City Symphony.

Her expertise spans flute pedagogy, orchestral performance, and audition coordination. Miller has studied under prominent flutists including Catherine P. Smith, Alan Cox, and Mary Karen Clardy, with additional mentorship from Tim Day, Bettine Clemen, and Susanna Watling.
In her administrative role, she oversees music program admissions and scholarship evaluations. Her career demonstrates a strong commitment to both musical excellence and educational leadership in the performing arts.
