Dr. Mary Gearey is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Brighton’s School of Applied Sciences, affiliated with the Centre for Environment and Society and the People, Nature and Places Research Excellence Group. She holds a PhD from Cranfield University, a Master’s from SOAS University of London, and a Bachelor’s from the University of Leeds. Her research focuses on water governance, climate change adaptation, wetland ecology, and environmental citizenship, with projects funded by NERC, AHRC, the EU, and others. She leads the WetlandLIFE initiative, exploring wetland management and wellbeing. Awards include a Fellowship with the Royal Geographical Society.
