Mary Eustace serves as an Adjunct Instructor in Criminal Justice at Mercy University's School of Social and Behavioral Sciences since 2022 and concurrently holds an Adjunct Professor position in Forensic Science at Fairleigh Dickinson University since 2000. She retired after 30+ years as a Forensic Science Specialist in the DNA section of the Westchester County Forensic Laboratory, bringing extensive practical experience to her academic roles.
Her research centers on forensic methodology validation and application, with primary expertise in DNA analysis for criminal investigations, serological testing for blood and semen identification, and criminalistics. She specializes in developing and verifying forensic protocols including Leucocrystal Violet blood detection and commercial PSA semen identification kits, directly bridging laboratory science with courtroom evidence standards.
Her publication history reveals consistent focus on forensic validation science across two decades, with recurring themes in DNA profiling for victim-perpetrator linkage, chemical reagent testing for biological evidence, and commercial kit reliability - demonstrating sustained commitment to improving forensic laboratory accuracy and admissibility in legal contexts.
