Mary Alice Lee is a Lecturer in Health Policy at the Yale School of Public Health, with secondary appointments in the Yale School of Management and School of Nursing. Her work focuses on improving health outcomes for children, pregnant women, and families through policy analysis and equity-focused research.

Dr. Lee has directed state-funded monitoring of Connecticut’s HUSKY Program (Medicaid/CHIP) for over two decades, analyzing enrollment continuity, access to care, and maternal/child health outcomes. Since 2015, she has collaborated with the Bhutan Foundation to strengthen health research capacity at Bhutan’s Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences. Her research spans health equity, social justice, reproductive health, and health systems reform.
Dr. Lee’s career bridges clinical practice and academic leadership, having previously served as a Lecturer at Yale’s Jackson Institute for Global Affairs (2014) and as a nurse-midwife and educator before her doctoral studies. She is actively engaged in health policy analysis and data-driven research to address disparities in public health systems.
