Marvin Hanisch is an Associate Professor in the Department of Innovation management & Strategy at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Economics and Business. He holds co-affiliations with the University of Passau and has held visiting positions at institutions including Freie Universität Berlin and HKU Business School. His research focuses on organizational leadership and governance challenges in the face of technological disruptions and crises, with particular emphasis on strategic alliances, blockchain networks, AI governance, and open-source communities.
Education: PhD in Strategic Management from the University of Passau (2019). Earlier academic awards include the Best Thesis Award by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (2014).
Research interests span interorganizational governance mechanisms, digital transformation, and the application of organizational cognition theories. His work has been published in journals like Strategic Management Journal and Organization Science.
