Dr. Martin Walch is a Lecturer in Fine Arts at the University of Tasmania's School of Creative Arts and Media, where he coordinates the Photography program. His work spans photography, video, sound, computer programming, and data visualization, focusing on environmental representation and complex environments. He has exhibited internationally and is known for projects like The Derwent Project (funded by ARC) and Creative Antarctica.
Research & Grants: Current projects include the ARC-funded 'Creative Antarctica' (2022–2025) and previous grants such as 'The Derwent Project' (2014–2016). His Antarctic residency through the Australian Antarctic Arts Fellowship (2017/18) furthered computational and photographic methods in extreme environments.
