Martin Kerby

Martin Kerby is Associate Professor of Curriculum and Pedagogy at the University of Southern Queensland's School of Education. His research spans historical education, war commemoration, children's literature, and arts-based pedagogy.

Research interests include:

• Artistic and cultural responses to war
• Curriculum development and history education
• Representation in children's literature
• Teacher professional development

His recent publications critically examine representation in children's literature, curriculum development, and historical commemoration. He has curated exhibitions like 'The Kangaroo and the Eagle: Allies in War and Peace' displayed at the Pentagon.

Dr. Kerby has received multiple awards including a Princeton University Library Research Grant and Gandel Holocaust Studies Program award. He currently supervises doctoral research on aviation safety, gender in aviation, and low-cost carrier operations.
