Sarah Minslow is an Associate Professor of Children's and Young Adult Literature at California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA), within the Department of English, College of Arts & Letters. She currently serves as the acting Internship Supervisor and teaches courses including Children's Literature, British Literature, and War, Genocide, and Human Rights. Her research focuses on war and genocide representation in children's literature, Holocaust studies, and human rights education.
Dr. Minslow has published a book Denial: The Final Stage of Genocide? (2021) and recent chapters on topics such as Angeline Boulley’s Firekeeper’s Daughter and Asian American exclusion narratives in teaching. She participated in the American Communities Program: TIME (2022-2023) and contributes to grant-funded projects like Contemporary Approaches to 21st Century Holocaust Literature and Art of Peace: New Perspectives in Visual Art on Peacekeeping.
Active in professional service, she serves on the Board of the Children’s Literature Association and leads workshops for K-12 educators on teaching Holocaust and Genocide studies in English classrooms.
