Martin John Smith serves as Anniversary Professor and Head of Department of Politics at the University of York's Faculty of Social Sciences. Previously, he was Professor of Politics and Head of Department at the University of Sheffield (2001-2005), and Faculty Director of Research there (2008-2012).
