Martin J. D'Souza is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Mercer University College of Pharmacy, where he holds multiple leadership roles: Director of the Graduate Program, Director of the Clinical Laboratory, and Co-Director of the Center for Drug Delivery Research. He also serves as the Dick R. Gourley Chair of Pharmaceutics.
Education:

- Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy
Research Interests: Dr. D'Souza's laboratory specializes in nanotechnology-driven solutions for drug and vaccine delivery. Key areas include:
- Development of oral, buccal, parenteral, and microneedle-based transdermal systems for vaccines (targeting influenza, HIV, HPV, pneumonia, meningitis, and cancer)
- Tissue bio-engineering using cell encapsulation and thermosensitive gels for pancreatic cell transplantation in diabetes
Teaching: He instructs courses such as Biopharmaceutics, Biotechnology, Scientific Writing, and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, emphasizing applied pharmaceutical sciences.
