Martin Augustine

Martin Augustine, M.D., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgical Oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center since 2014. His work combines clinical care with research focused on gastrointestinal oncology, drug development, and surgical innovations. He leads studies funded by the NIH and other institutions.

Education: Medical degree from Yale University; Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Completed fellowship training in complex cancer surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Research interests span genetic screening for gastrointestinal tumors, drug discovery to enhance chemotherapy efficacy, liver transplantation techniques, and minimally invasive surgical approaches. His work integrates imaging advancements with clinical oncology.
