Adam Yopp, M.D., is a Professor and Surgical Director of the Liver Tumor Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He also serves as Director of the Tissue Specimen Resource at the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center. His clinical expertise focuses on gastrointestinal cancers, liver, pancreas, stomach, and bile duct surgeries. Dr. Yopp completed his medical degree at St. George’s University, followed by general surgery residency at Maimonides Medical Center and a surgical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. His research emphasizes hepatobiliary malignancies, translational studies in surgical outcomes, and molecular mechanisms in immunology.
Research interests include surgical oncology, hepatobiliary malignancies, and the molecular underpinnings of cancer recurrence. His work spans clinical trials in oncology and immunological pathways in transplantation. He leads the Tissue Specimen Resource, supporting cancer research through biospecimen management.
Publications highlight his contributions to liver tumor therapy, pancreatic neoplasms, and CXCR4 biomarkers in colorectal metastases. His clinical trials research informs evidence-based practices in surgical oncology. Dr. Yopp’s academic contributions are further reflected in studies on regulatory T-cells and immunomodulatory therapies.
