Martin Alvarez is a Doctoral Researcher at the Institute for Computational Design and Construction (ICD) within the Cluster of Excellence Integrative Computational Design and Construction for Architecture (IntCDC) at the University of Stuttgart. He holds an M.Sc. Arch. with distinction and completed the ITECH program with distinction.
Research Focus: Design of robotically sewn lightweight timber structures, integrating computational methods into architectural construction and digital fabrication. His work bridges computational design with practical timber construction techniques.

Background: Alvarez studied Architecture at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), graduating in 2008. He taught as a tutor at UBA and gained professional experience in Argentina through collaborations with Ciro Najle General Design Bureau and Estudio Ruiz Orrico. He joined ICD in 2017 after collaborating with arch22 in Stuttgart.
