Martha Belury

Martha Belury is Professor and Chair of the Department of Food Science and Technology at The Ohio State University, holding the Carol S. Kennedy Endowed Professorship. Her lab investigates metabolic modulators—including polyunsaturated fatty acids and isoflavones—that regulate insulin sensitivity in liver, adipose, and muscle tissues, with implications for cancer prevention and cachexia.

Research employs murine models, cell cultures, clinical trials, and observational studies. She currently leads a USDA-funded National Needs Fellowship in Food & Nutrition for Obesity & Cancer Prevention and collaborates on NIH grants investigating pancreatic cancer cachexia mediators.
