Marsha Williams is a Lecturer and Research Associate in the Department of Biology at The University of Texas at Tyler. She holds a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Oklahoma (1994), an M.S. in Zoology from Oklahoma State University (1997), and completed post-M.S. studies in Agricultural Engineering at The Ohio State University (2005-2007). Her research focuses on Fluvial Geomorphology, Aquatic Ecology, and Landscape Ecology, utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) as a key tool. She has co-PI'd grants totaling $6 million and leads projects such as endangered species niche modeling, military base water quality monitoring, and TCEQ Upper Neches River studies.
Her teaching portfolio includes courses like Aquatic Biology, Ecology, General Biology, and Herpetology. She also has extensive experience in immersive field courses at institutions like the University of Oklahoma and Ohio State University. Williams' work bridges applied ecological research and environmental management, emphasizing conservation and water quality issues in Texas and Louisiana.
