Bartosz Grudzinski is an Associate Professor at Miami University, serving as Director of the Center for Aquatic and Watershed Sciences. He holds affiliate faculty positions in the Department of Geography and Department of Geology and Environmental Earth Science, and participates in the Miami Ecological Big Data Initiative. His research focuses on fluvial geomorphology, aquatic ecology, and hydrology, with an emphasis on human-environment interactions and land use impacts on aquatic systems. Grudzinski investigates how anthropogenic activities alter fluvial ecosystems and identifies mechanisms for ecosystem restoration through best management practices.
Education: Ph.D. Geography (Kansas State University, 2014), M.S. Geography (Northern Illinois University, 2010), B.S. Geography (Eastern Illinois University, 2008).
Research interests include watershed processes, stream conservation, and the effects of grazing, beaver activity, and land cover changes on water quality. His recent work explores beaver dam impacts across biomes and the environmental effects of riparian fencing in agricultural landscapes.
Grudzinski’s teaching spans courses such as Hydrogeography (GEO 425) and Watershed Management (GEO 426). His publications emphasize interdisciplinary approaches to understanding human-driven environmental change, with a focus on practical conservation solutions.
