Dr. Matthew TenEyck serves as Research Center Director, Senior Lecturer, and Assistant Scientist at the University of Wisconsin-Superior's Natural Sciences Department. His roles involve leadership in the Lk Superior Research Institute and academic instruction in environmental science. He holds a Ph.D. in Water Resources Science from the University of Minnesota Duluth (2015), M.S. in Zoology from Oklahoma State University (2001), and B.S. in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Superior (1998).

His research spans environmental toxicology, aquatic invasion ecology, and ballast water discharge impacts. Notable projects include additive toxicity studies, bioaccumulation analyses, and invasive species mitigation. As a Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI, he has led sediment/water toxicology studies and ballast water treatment evaluations.
Awarded the 2018 UW System Board of Regents Non-instructional Academic Staff Award for Excellence, recognizing his contributions to research and service.
Advising and grants include leadership on multiple interdisciplinary projects, with a focus on applied environmental science solutions. He collaborates within the Lk Superior Research Institute to address regional ecological challenges.
