Research interests span ancient political thinkers like Aristotle and Euripides, exploring themes such as justice, deliberative democracy, and the pedagogical role of literature. Her recent book Seeing with Free Eyes: The Poetic Justice of Euripides (2021) challenges traditional prioritization of philosophy over literature in political thought. Current projects include analyzing Euripides’ works in contemporary debates on nationalism and refugee policy.
Teaching covers undergraduate and graduate courses in political theory, ethics, and literature, including Introduction to Western Political Theory and Biotechnology, Agriculture and Food Policy.
Her work has been recognized with the 2011 APSA best paper award. Ongoing research includes studies on medical policy, biology-culture intersections, and the role of emotions in political deliberation.
