He holds the academic rank of Professor of Chemistry and serves as Reader in Theoretical Chemistry. His qualifications include BA, MA, and D.Phil degrees from Oxford, completed between 1987 and 1994.
- Education:
- Undergraduate in Chemistry at Oxford (1987-1991)
- D.Phil in Physical Chemistry supervised by Prof. P A Madden (1991-1994)
His research focuses on constructing and applying simplified potential models to study low-dimensional crystalline structures, network-forming liquids, glass transitions, phase diagrams, polyamorphism, and nanoparticle self-assembly. His career includes roles such as Alexander von Humboldt Fellow (1994-1996), Royal Society Research Fellow at Oxford and UCL (1996-2004), and Reader at University College London (2004-2007).
