Perry Gauci is a Tutor in Modern History at Lincoln College, University of Oxford. He holds a B.A., M.Phil., and D.Phil. from Oxford, with postdoctoral research at the History of Parliament Trust and the Centre for Metropolitan History, University of London. His research focuses on political and social developments in England from 1650–1750, emphasizing the interplay between local/regional dynamics and national political frameworks, merchant networks, and British imperialism. He has published two major works: Revisiting The Polite and Commercial People (2019) and William Beckford: First Prime Minister of the London Empire (2013).
