Mark Toleman

Professor Mark Toleman is a Professor of Information Systems in the School of Business at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ). He holds a PhD from the University of Queensland and MSc from James Cook University. His roles include former University Secretary (2013–2023), Head of the School of Information Systems (2007–2013), and Chair of the Academic Board (2006–2012). He is a member of the Association for Information Systems (AIS), Australian Computer Society (ACS), and Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

Research Interests: Focus on policy evaluation, university governance, IT service management (ITSM), design science, HCI, and e-government. His work includes developing software tools for process assessment and exploring IT governance challenges in healthcare and public sectors.

Teaching: Current courses include MBA8001, MBA8005, and MBA8010. Past courses span programming, algorithms, database systems, and discrete mathematics.

Labs & Teams: Former Director of the e-Business Advisory and Research Centre (e-BARC) at USQ. Collaborates with global institutions on IT governance and software tool development.
