Mark Thompson

Mark L. Thompson is a Senior Lecturer in American Studies at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Arts. His research focuses on Colonial America, the American Revolution, the Early American Republic, the US South, and the early modern Atlantic World. He has expertise in History, Cultural Studies, and Multidisciplinary Humanities.

Key research interests include the study of ethnicity, national identity, and race in colonial contexts. Thompson has published extensively on topics such as the Delaware Valley's colonial history, settler colonialism, and historical methodology.
