Dr. Jelte Olthof is an Assistant Professor in the Department of American Studies in Political Culture and Theory at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Arts. His research focuses on political rhetoric across U.S. history, contemporary Dutch politics, and climate activism. He leads the NWO-funded Youth Climate Court Rhetoric project and contributes to the H-GEAR digital humanities initiative.
Education:

Research Interests: Explores how rhetoric shapes political identity through analysis of U.S. presidential speeches, Dutch political discourse, and climate activism strategies. Specializes in historiography of the American Revolution and Frisian cultural narratives.
