Dr. Joop W. Koopmans is Associate Professor of Early Modern History at the Faculty of Arts, University of Groningen. His research explores intersections between politics, media, and regional identity in early modern Europe, with a focus on the Dutch Republic and Frisia. He co-edits the Nieuwe Encyclopedie van Fryslân and leads interdisciplinary projects on topics like Authority and Persuasion.
