Mark T. McNally, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He holds leadership roles including Chair of the Course Evaluation Committee in the Graduate School and Course Director for IAHI M1 Medical School. His research focuses on post-transcriptional gene regulation mechanisms, particularly RNA splicing and polyadenylation in cellular and viral contexts. He uses retroviruses like Rous sarcoma virus (RSV) as models to study RNA processing and explores antisense oligonucleotide technologies for breast cancer therapy.
Education: PhD in Molecular Biology from SUNY Buffalo (1988).
Research Interests: RNA splicing regulation, viral life cycle mechanisms, and development of RNA-based therapeutics. Techniques include molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, and cell biology.
Leadership and Teaching: Oversees course evaluations and directs medical school courses. Advises the Research and Education Program at AHW.
