Mark Sterbank is Professor of Music at Charleston Southern University, specializing in Jazz Studies and Saxophone performance. He directs jazz ensembles and teaches courses including Music Appreciation, Jazz Theory, Woodwind Techniques, and Performance Class. His educational background includes:
- BM Performance from Eastman School of Music (1988)
- MM Performance from University of New Orleans (1991)
His research focuses on jazz performance pedagogy, sacred jazz arrangements, and contemporary improvisation techniques. Artistic outputs include three jazz albums exploring spiritual themes and original compositions, demonstrating consistent innovation in sacred and modern jazz genres.
