Professor Mark Moller is a faculty member at DePaul University College of Law, holding the rank of Professor of Law. He specializes in civil procedure, complex litigation, conflict of laws, federal courts, legal ethics, and originalism. Prior to academia, he practiced appellate and class action litigation at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher in Washington, D.C., and led the Cato Institute's Supreme Court amicus program. He earned a JD from the University of Chicago Law School (1999), an LLM from the University of Cambridge (2000), and a BA from Duke University (1994).
His research focuses on federal jurisdiction, particularly the originalist analysis of corporate access to federal courts under Article III. Notable works include collaborations with Professor Lawrence Solum on the constitutional limits of corporate diversity jurisdiction. He teaches courses such as Advanced Civil Procedure, Conflict of Laws, and Legal Ethics. In 2025, he will also teach at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law.
Professor Moller has been recognized with the College of Law's Award for Excellence in Scholarship. His scholarship spans prestigious journals like the William & Mary Law Review and the Stanford Journal of Complex Litigation.
