Erica Jansson is an Adjunct Professor at Southwestern Law School, where she teaches in the Appellate Litigation Clinic. She concurrently serves as a litigation associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, focusing on consumer protection, labor & employment, and white collar crime matters. Previously, she was a judicial clerk for Chief Judge Philip S. Gutierrez of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. She graduated summa cum laude from Southwestern Law School’s Evening Program (2021) and holds a B.F.A. in Dance and Choreography from California Institute of the Arts.
Her professional engagements include pro bono work with the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles and Immigrant Defenders Law Center. At Southwestern, she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Southwestern Law Review, Chair of the Moot Court Honors Program, and a teaching assistant for five professors. She also received the Judge Barry Russell Federal Practice Award for excellence in federal practice.
Her academic and professional focus integrates clinical legal education, appellate litigation, and advocacy. She contributes to the Clinical Programs department through her teaching and mentorship roles.
