Mark McGovern is a Professor in Sociology within the Department of History, Geography and Social Sciences. His research focuses on political violence, conflict, and post-conflict transition in Northern Ireland, with particular emphasis on state collusion, victims' rights, and truth mechanisms. He has authored major works including Counterinsurgency and Collusion in Northern Ireland and Ardoyne: The Untold Truth.
