Professor Mark Lehrer is a Professor of Strategy and International Business at Suffolk University's Sawyer Business School, specializing in the Department of Strategy and International Business. He holds a PhD in Management from INSEAD (1997), a PhD in German from the University of California, Berkeley (1986), an MA in Comparative Literature from UC Berkeley (1982), and dual BS degrees in Economics and Humanities/Science from MIT (1980). His research explores complexity science in international business, technology transitions (e.g., hydrogen economy), and German business practices, often collaborating with Sokol Celo and Kim Wang.
Lehrer’s teaching includes the MBA course 'Understanding World-Class Clusters,' focusing on metropolitan economics and global competitiveness. His research outputs span over 50 peer-reviewed articles, emphasizing innovation in multinational firms, born-global strategies, and German Mittelstand firms' resilience.
