Dr. Mark Johansen is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Psychology, Cardiff University, where he has been employed since 2004. He holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology and Cognitive Science from Indiana University (2002) and a B.Sc. in Biology with Computing and Psychology from Andrews University (1994). His research focuses on category learning, causal reasoning, and the use of virtual environments to study cognitive processes.

His empirical work compares classification learning and feature inference to refine mathematical models of cognition.
